- Account creation date
Wine collection data:
- Wine information (name, producer, vintage, type, etc.)
- Wine photos you upload
- Cellar configurations and locations
- Notes and ratings
Shared wine catalog:
- When you add a wine, anonymized wine data (name, producer, vintage, country, region, grape variety, type) is contributed to our shared wine catalog
- This data does not include any personal information, photos, notes, locations, or prices
- The shared catalog helps all users by providing wine suggestions during data entry
Technical data:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device information
- Usage statistics (via Vercel Analytics)
3. How do we use your data?
- Account management: To create and manage your account
- App functionality: To store and display your wine collection
- Shared wine catalog: To build a community wine database that provides suggestions and auto-complete when adding wines
- Service improvement: To improve the app based on usage patterns

4. Third-party services
We use the following external services:
AI-Powered Features and Third-Party Processing
WineWorx offers optional AI-powered features including wine label recognition, wine search, AI sommelier recommendations, drinking window insights, and background removal for wine photos.
These AI features are only activated after you explicitly enable them within the app. AI processing is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the app settings.
When you use AI features, the following data may be transmitted for processing:
- Wine metadata such as name, producer, vintage, region, grape variety, and type
- Your wine collection context when generating recommendations
- Text you submit when using AI features
- Wine label photos or image URLs for recognition or background removal
AI processing is carried out by the following service providers:
These providers act as data processors on our behalf and process data solely for the purpose of delivering the requested AI functionality. They do not receive your email address, account credentials, payment information, precise location, or device identifiers.
EXIF and GPS metadata are removed from photos before any AI processing occurs.
WineWorx does not sell personal data and does not use AI data for advertising purposes.
5. How long do we keep your data?
We keep your personal data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Personal data: Your account information, wine photos, notes, ratings, and cellar locations will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- Anonymized wine data: Basic wine information (name, producer, vintage, country, region, type) that was contributed to the shared catalog will remain available to help other users. This data contains no personal information and cannot be traced back to you
6. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the following rights:
- Access: You can request a copy of your data
- Rectification: You can correct your data through the app
- Erasure: You can delete your account and all data via Settings
- Objection: You can object to the processing of your data
- Data portability: You can request your data in a readable format
7. Security
We take your privacy seriously and use industry-standard security measures:
- Passwords are encrypted (bcrypt hashing)
- HTTPS encryption for all communication
- Regular security updates
- Access control and monitoring
8. Cookies and tracking
We only use essential cookies for authentication and basic analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, but this may limit app functionality.
9. Children
WineWorx is an app for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from persons under 18 years of age.
